This app is used as an intelligent system to monitor and alert driver of defected points of road surface. With the use of accelerometer in smartphone together with cloud computing system, road surface can be surveyed and repaired effectively by sharing data with the municipal authorities.
Road traffic injuries cause considerable economic losses to individuals, their families, and to nations as a whole. According to data compiled by the Indian ministry of road transport and highways, 10,876 people were killed due to potholes in 2015 which is a slight dip from 11,106 deaths in 2014. While poor maintenance by road-owning agencies is the main reason behind potholes contributing to crashes, Road Surface application will definitely provide a critical data to both driver and the municipal authority to avoid these tragedies.
